Q&A: Lee Crawford

What is your role at PM+U?

I am the finance manager for the business. It is my role to make sure that all financial aspects of the business run smoothly, from invoicing and collection of debts from tenants to reconciliation of property service charge costs.

What would you say is your biggest contribution?

The finance team is always looking to develop stronger lines of communication with our stakeholders. I am a firm believer in providing accurate and relevant information, which I believe helps inform decision making and provides a bedrock for improving relationships.

What do you enjoy about working at PM+U?

I like the variety; I can honestly say it’s never boring! People are open to talking and discussing challenges, ideas and solutions. Everyone has something to contribute.

How would you describe the PM+U culture?

It is a small, dedicated team; nobody is afraid to pick up the baton and run with it. In a challenging and often competitive environment, that flexibility and desire to go the extra mile really helps us to differentiate ourselves.

What would your super power be?

I would like to be able to control time, pausing the clock to get stuff done and still have the day available afterwards appeals to me. That or fast forwarding through a particularly bad film!

What might surprise others to know about you?

I’m a keen musician who plays lead guitar in an indie band and used to arrange music for a horn section of a 60s soul ensemble.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I really enjoy classic old films. I’d probably pick Singing in the Rain over most big budget action films any day of the week.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I really wanted to fix streetlights for a living. I have no idea why, as I’m afraid of heights!

What’s most important to you?

My family will always come first. If they are okay, then everything else will be too.
